My company, Boiler Bee is a small family plumbing and gas engineering business concerned with new installations of heating systems and pipe work and the servicing and maintenance of domestic and commercial appliances such as boiler, cookers, gas fires and water heaters.

I served my engineering apprenticeship at Swan Hunters Shipbuilders in 1980. Since then I have gained a multitude of practical and professional qualifications such as Gas Safe, LPG and degrees in Mechanical Engineering (BSc), Robotics (MSc) and Subsea Engineering (MSc) from Sunderland, Loughborough and Newcastle Universities.

I am also qualified to work on domestic meters and LPG gas systems for caravans, park homes and remote properties where mains gas is not available.

This year, 2018, I qualified to work on commercial boilers and gas pipework.

Hi I’m Derek 🙂

This is Derek, he’s a very busy bee. He likes to fix boilers but he’s also 

really handy at fixing all sorts of problems with domestic heating systems. 

When he’s not helping people get their heating working he can be found fitting 

kitchen taps, showers, radiators and leaks.
