The Government has today finally release the widely discussed and long awaited changes to Part L of the Building Regulations – Conservation of Fuel and Power.
Unfortunately these have been scaled back significantly from a 20% improvement to only 9% improvement in energy efficiency.
This is in part a reflection of the high capital cost of making building more energy efficient but goes some way to paving “steps towards our zero carbon ambitions”, quoted by Baroness Hanham.
